Christmas time...

We had a wonderful Christmas here in the Brady house... My hubby and I opened our presents to each other on Christmas Eve since the 2 older girls were with thier dad's this year. We had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner of Cheeseburger Pizza from Pizza Inn (One of our favs) ;-) We finished wrapping the last minute presents and made Cheesecake Squares (YUM!!)Christmas morning, we got up and I made the ham and cut the cheesecake squares and my hubby, Riley and I headed off to my mother in laws to have lunch and open presents. We had such a good time! Have I mentioned that I married into one of the best and most wonderful families of all time? I love to be with them all and we just have the best time together!!

After gathering @ my mil's house, we picked up Emma and all headed home to open presents. The girls were really happy with all thier presents and after unwrapping and then of course unpackaging (UGH!), the girls all ran off to play with thier toys and I made sausage balls for dinner. They were SO GOOD but SO MESSY to make, I remember why we don't have them often.

It was such a busy but exciting weekend! On top of all the Christmas fun, my little one got her 1st tooth and turned 10 months old on Christmas Eve. She was such fun this Christmas, she LOVED watching her big sisters open thier presents and liked hers once someone else opened them for her. :-)

I realized even more how blessed I am to have the husband that was intended JUST for me, who shows me more every day what a healthy relationship is and 3 gorgeous daughters who remind me more and more why I love being a mommy.

We had a wonderful Christmas and now that it is over, (Tree came down the day after, it got exhausting to chase a 10 month old away from it all the time) I am glad to have the memories and the people that made them wonderful for me. :-)

Halloween pics

Here are some pics from Halloween. We did it Saturday and Sunday this year and by Sunday night Mom was EXHAUSTED!!! B went trick or treating on her own in our neighborhood with some of her friends and I took E & R with one of E's little friends from down the street. We were not cool enough for B this year, they stayed several houses ahead of us. My hubby got home in time to help wrap things up and get everyone cleaned up before supper. It was alot of fun but I am glad its all over. :)

Riley and Dewayne.. He had to work so we just stopped in and showed off our costume!

My sister and I took our kidlets to the mall for trick or treating on Saturday. Brooke, Kiley (B&E's friend from down the street, Haleigh, Emma, Riley and Addison

Of course we had to say hello to sweet Britany while we were stopping in Justice for some trick or treating.

There has been so much going on around here..I am so ready for some down time, but with the holidays on their way, I think it will be awhile. I used to love chaos, the busier I was the happier I was. Not sure what all that was about, nowadays, the simpler the better for me. I like a schedule though we don't really have one that works for us at the time. ;0) I like things organized though to look at my desk at home, you would think "Huh"? lol.. I hope for lazier days in my future so I can get more organized and just relax some on my off days.

Some of the things going on around here..Work has been crazy, we lost a dear co-worker and friend last month in a car accident and it hit close to home with everyone. We spend more time together at work than we do with our own families so its hard not to be close with one another. It made us all realize that we get so caught up in our everyday routines that we forget how short life can be. I was on my way to work this morning when a song came on that made me think of Sarah. I cried almost the whole way but after my tears I couldn't help but smile and think how lucky I was just to know her..

The girls are all ready for Halloween. I think this will be Brooke's last and since its Riley's 1st, it will seem strange for me to have one brand new to it all and another getting too "old" for it. They have thier costumes all ready and put up for trick or treating. We plan to go to the mall on saturday night and then on Sunday night, we will probably just pass out candy or maybe go around in our neighborhood. Hoping they get thier fill on saturday night, but I am not going to count on it. :)

We are getting ready to head to Auburn next weekend for the Auburn/LSU game and we are so excited to go with both teams undefeated. It should be a great game!! Hopefully I should have some pics to post when we get home. :)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!! I better quit playing on the computer and get to some housework! :)

Our "mini" vacation! :-)

So recently we took a "mini" vacation to my husbands hometown! It was 1 hour from home and 1 night away but we had the BEST time! The girls are already talking about when we go back next year! :) We went and stayed @ the Marriott Shoals Hotel & Spa in Florence. They have a FABULOUS outdoor pool and a nice indoor pool as well! We went down and swam all afternoon and stayed @ the pool until 9pm when thunder forced us to go to our room. The next morning, we got up had breakfast and hit the pool again until check-out time. All we did was swim and eat in the bed in the hotel and that made for the most fun ever! The hotel pool had a slide and a cave to swim under. I bet the girls rode the slide 100 times. :) It was simple and cheap (for a vacation anyway) and we have decided to try to do that every year! We had to miss out on a big vacation this year so it was a nice treat! :) Here are some pics of our "mini" vacation!

UPDATE!!

Sooooooo...It has been busy busy around the Brady house these days! The girls are back in school and happy! They both had great progress reports and I am super pleased about that! :) They get home each day and play with the other children in the neighborhood, you can usually find them in the front yard doing back handsprings or making up dances while the Ipods are a blaring..lol.. Brooke had her Homecoming dance tonight and I was at work while she was getting ready! :( I came home to find that the pictures from my camera must not have worked because the memory card was empty! :( She went with a friend and I think her mom got some pics and I am waiting on an email so I can hopefully upload some for you all to see! Emma's fall pics were today and so she picked out her dress and shoes and was so excited to dress UP for school! :)

Everyone is doing well! We are each staying busy and ready for FALL to get here! The temps are too much for me! UGH! Well, I hear RC waking up so I better run! Hope to have some pics for my next post! :)

6 months

Riley Claire~

Today you are half a year old. You are such a happy baby and you smile and laugh every day.. I often wish I could view the world from your eyes and just bask in the innocence you thrive in each day. You are very bubbly and you make friends wherever you go. You weighed 15 pounds and 14 ounces and you were 26 1/2 inches long at your checkup. You are rolling all around but haven't mastered sitting up just yet. Your jumparoo is your favorite toy and you will "jump" endlessly until your chubby legs get tired then you are over it.. and you are good to let us know when you are.... ;0) You love all kinds of foods and I think you have tried all of the "1st" foods they make..You never turn your nose up at any of it..You get your appetite from your mom...:0)

We can't believe it has been 6 months since you came into our lives. It is such a joy to be your mom and dad...We love you Riley Claire..

Busy month......

July is my busiest month of the year! On July 11th, my oldest baby turned 12, yep thats right 12!!! It's hard to believe she is only 1 year away from being a TEEN!! (INSERT LOUD SHRIEK HERE) She did not do a party this year, we had birthday breakfast here @ home and you can almost guess what the menu was! CAKE, yep, this mother let her children eat CAKE for breakfast! Oh well, birthdays are only once a year.. ;0) She had a great time, we went shopping so she could spend some of her birthday money and we had to get school supplies so we got that out of the way too. Then for dinner, we went out to eat at one of our favorite places. It was a great day! :)

I still have 2 more birthdays this month so now you can start to see why July is so busy! My husband will be 40 on Sat and my middle baby will be 8! Oh and Riley will be 5 months old on my husband's bday... Again, can you imagine my stress level.. lol

And to top it all off, I have started my own business with Thirty One gifts. I love a full plate, Yep thats me... :-)

I also felt the need to put together a SUPRISE bday dinner since this is such a special year for my husband! He is turning the big 4-0 ya know... :-) We had some of our closest friends and family to celebrate with.. Some were from here and others traveled from Fort Payne, Birmingham and Chattanooga to spend the evening with us and just have a great time! It was so nice to see each and every one of them and the look on my husband's face was priceless when he walked into the restuaruant and noticed what was going on!! :-) The food was amazing but then again, it always is.... I LOVE LOVE to go and watch them cook our food right in front of us. I also love the personalities of the chefs that are there..They are always so happy and love to put on a show. Here are some pics from dinner this past weekend!

July birthdays are still in full swing around this house. Emma's birthday party is this weekend and I am super excited. This is the first year that we have had a party since moving back to North Alabama. After all this month, it will slow down for a week or maybe two and then school starts back so the craziness begins again. Maybe, July isn't so bad after all, at least we don't have school to juggle on top of everything else. ;-)
